Task 2: Casting Justfication

Jenny Field:

This is Amanda Smith she will be playing Jenny. She's comfortable in front of the camera. She did as i asked her too and her acting was good.  

She used some of her own ideas on how to make Jenny seem normal yet suspicious. She contributed well and she was exactly what I envisioned. 



Jason Strauss

This is Paul and he was perfect for the role of Jason. He has the build where you would expect to be a gangster or even a ‘hard man’  but he likes to workout and help the community. Paul helped suggest ideas to show how intimidated  he was by Jenny. Paul enjoyed playing this role as his personality is almost the opposite.

Edward Scissorhands Ice Dance Scene Setting: This scene is set in Kim's back garden with her house in the background with Christmas lights hanging from the house. Hair and Make Up: Kim has natural make up and an angle like styled hair to show she is very angelic and graceful. Kim also has ice shavings falling gently around her and on her hair and face, this creates a halo look on the top of her head. Kim has the big eyes and plump lips, narrow nose which a lot of people say is 'the perfect features'. However Eadward has scares all over his face and very messy black hair. Edwards make up is very pale face with very dark lips, a purple colour. His hair looks like it’s never been brushed or combed, it also is very spicky looking. Costume: Kim is wearing a white satin (or silk) dress. I think the reason for Kim wearing a white dress is to show she is innocent and very angelic and what Edward sees as an angle. Edward is wearing the clothes Peg (the mum) had given him.

My idea

COURSEWORK PLAN  GENRE: Horror DIRECTOR: Maddison Brooks DURATION: 2 minutes STYLE: Contemporary March:  My idea is to challenge the conventions of a horror film. I want to have a older, strong male as a victim and use a young, pretty female as my 'predator' and use a public place. I want to use a public place as most horror films happen in a rural area or during the quiet time of day. I will film in the dark. There's a brilliant alleyway near where i live and it has lampposts that are flickering, it looks like the perfect horror film setting. I would also have some action scenes to show my camera skills such as tracking shot.  I would have my actors running and having my female chasing the male actor. I would like to use a weapon, possibly a knife, although carrying a knife in public can have some safety problems and legal problems. Depending of covid rules, I will use my back garden for close up on knives and physical fight scenes because my back garden has a lot of spa
