Eyes of the forest:

Director: Finn Sheridan and Sophie Craw

The camera angles are following both the victim and the attacker on their journey until they meet. The lighting is light out, there are no dark tones except for the costume of the attacker who is in all black, which isn't conventional for horror films.

What do we learn? 

There's young lady running out alone in the woods. She is captures by someone whilst out on a run.

Who are we introduced to?

We are introduced to a young lady and and I presume, an older man.

What setting are used?

A forest, it's slightly dimmed. The forest is close to a town because she had to run there. Although it's probably close by it is far away enough for no one to notice she's gone.

What is the look/style/aesthetic?

It looks eary because no ones around, and it's showing that any time or place. It's a horror because it leaves the audience questioning what's going on. 

What conventions of the genre are there?

There's conventions such as deep in a forest and a vulnerable girl.

Is it obvious what genre is is? Is it a hybrid?

Yes it is a horror however it seems like it could be a crime film as well because of the person attacking the girl.

What sound is there? 

The sound is ambient as it's all sounds of the forest etc. There's also diegetic sound such as a cough.

Edward Scissorhands Ice Dance Scene Setting: This scene is set in Kim's back garden with her house in the background with Christmas lights hanging from the house. Hair and Make Up: Kim has natural make up and an angle like styled hair to show she is very angelic and graceful. Kim also has ice shavings falling gently around her and on her hair and face, this creates a halo look on the top of her head. Kim has the big eyes and plump lips, narrow nose which a lot of people say is 'the perfect features'. However Eadward has scares all over his face and very messy black hair. Edwards make up is very pale face with very dark lips, a purple colour. His hair looks like it’s never been brushed or combed, it also is very spicky looking. Costume: Kim is wearing a white satin (or silk) dress. I think the reason for Kim wearing a white dress is to show she is innocent and very angelic and what Edward sees as an angle. Edward is wearing the clothes Peg (the mum) had given him.

My idea

COURSEWORK PLAN  GENRE: Horror DIRECTOR: Maddison Brooks DURATION: 2 minutes STYLE: Contemporary March:  My idea is to challenge the conventions of a horror film. I want to have a older, strong male as a victim and use a young, pretty female as my 'predator' and use a public place. I want to use a public place as most horror films happen in a rural area or during the quiet time of day. I will film in the dark. There's a brilliant alleyway near where i live and it has lampposts that are flickering, it looks like the perfect horror film setting. I would also have some action scenes to show my camera skills such as tracking shot.  I would have my actors running and having my female chasing the male actor. I would like to use a weapon, possibly a knife, although carrying a knife in public can have some safety problems and legal problems. Depending of covid rules, I will use my back garden for close up on knives and physical fight scenes because my back garden has a lot of spa
